About Temple &
Webster Group

Company Overview

Temple & Webster Group operates two brands:

  • Temple & Webster, Australia's leading online retailer for the home by FY15 website visits, with 180,000+ active customers (October 2015-16), a database of more than 1 million members and a catalogue of 130,000+ products; and
  • Milan Direct, one of Australia's largest furniture wholesalers with 10 years of experience in sourcing private label products, now sold through the Temple & Webster e-commerce platform.

In 2016, the Group consolidated operations with the two businesses purchased ahead of its December 2015 listing on the Australian Securities Exchange. These moves are in line with the Group's revised business plan and path to profitability, and consolidate Temple & Webster's position as the dominant brand in the online furniture and homewares category.

In April 2016, the ZIZO/Wayfair brand was retired and the Temple & Webster brand migrated to the former's sophisticated technology platform, operating on an innovative drop-ship model. This resulted in Temple & Webster moving from a closed, members-only website to become Australia's largest online retailer for the home, with an open website carrying 130,000+ products including rugs,Opens in new window bar stools,Opens in new window coffee tables,Opens in new window office furnitureOpens in new window and more. In December 2016, the Milan Direct online furniture store was integrated into the Temple & Webster platform, with Milan Direct ceasing to operate as an e-commerce site but continuing as TPW's private label furniture brand, further strengthening the position and offering of the Temple & Webster brand.

The Group has a range of future opportunities that it plans to execute to continue its growth through marketing, product and technology investments, an increased Trade & Commercial program, online learning, leveraging operational synergies and launching retail showrooms.

Online platform

Temple & Webster

Temple & Webster is an open e-commerce platform that aims to create a premium shopping experience by providing a large and continually refreshed range of furniture and homewares products. The platform offers over 130,000 products searchable in Australia's largest online homewares store. The store works on a drop-ship model, where products are sent directly from the supplier to the customer, resulting in faster shipping for consumers and reduced operating costs for the Group. The product catalogue is overlayed with a 'discovery based' shopping experience of limited-time sale events, curated collections to capture trends and styles that span key target demographics, and inspiring editorial-style content.
